REASONS WHY YOU SHOULD NOT JUDGE THE WOMAN THAT COMMITTED SUICIDE IN LAGOS- (MUST READ)

We all have probably heard about the incident that happened where a woman jumped to her death on third mainland bridge.    Very sad news indeed. But I would like us to pay attention to that incident.  Clearly the woman had issues she had been dealing with. She probably had been judged either rightly or wrongly. We live in a judgmental society that is not in any way supportive.  But the irony of it is that those of us who judge are probably not any better. It isn't about who is better than who.

It isn't about who's marriage is working and who's not. It's not about who's children are getting  all the distinctions and who's not. It isn't about who's  business is bigger and better and who's not. Rather it's about who needs help. Mostly emotional.  It's about someone who has given up but just needs a hug or a smile or an encouraging word to keep going.

Let's have each other's back. Let's support each  other. Let us judge less.

That woman could have been saved from destruction if she had the right support system. Who knows.

If you know someone who may need your help or care, please reach out. Depression is very real. Let's stop living in denial. Let's stop getting overly religious by saying "it's not my portion". Of course no one wants it to be their portion. But emotions don't recognize those things.  God has given us each other. Let us harness the goodness in our relationships.
