ENUGU: APC Supporters Storms INEC Office, Demands REC Resignation

Some groups of the All Progressive Congress, APC, supporters on Thursday took their protest to Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, headquarters in Enugu.

The mammoth crowd, led by some party leaders and chieftains in the state, demanding for the presence of INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner to pass their message across. 

In a statement issued by the party's spokesperson, 'the REC, Dr. Ononamadu Emeka, has compromise with the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to deprive and nullify APC governorship aspirant, Sen. Ayogu Eze from Saturday's election'. 

The party chieftain also accused , Dr. Ononamadu Emeka, of other electoral malpractices, ranging from conniving and collaborating with the PDP, while also stating that the REC should as a matter of urgency tender his resignation, declaring him unfit to conduct election in Enugu. 

Addressing the protestants, Dr. Ononamadu Emeka, thank them for their peaceful demonstration, stressing that he will deliver their message to the appropriate authority while also clearing himself of any wrong doing. 

The group meanwhile, continue with their protest while also chanting for the inclusion of APC governorship candidate in Saturday's poll.
