Enugu Election Peaceful, Free and Fair- NDIDI

The March 9th election has finally come and gone. For the first time Nigeria experienced voters apathy yesterday as many voters refused to come out en masse to cast their votes.

Although some part of Nigeria experienced violence and few lives were lost, Enugu State election was peaceful, free and fair.

In the early hours of Saturday during our observation tour within the state, all polling units visited were all set waiting for voters. There was no significant report on the malfunctioning of card reader in all the polling units visited.

As voters arrived in their few numbers, their accreditation and voting exercise was done in few minutes.

I must commend INEC for a job well done, it was obvious that they were prepared for this election. Voting materials arrived quiet early and their was no case of any form of casualty at any polling unit within the State.

Despite the low turnout of voters this election remains the most peaceful election ever had under any administration.

As a private Observer that visited more than 4 local government areas and 20 polling stations, I want to commend the Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Gburugburu) for his efforts in making sure that voters voted admist safe and calm environment.

I also want to recognise Ndị Enugu for cooperating with His Excellence in maintaining calm and orderliness during the exercise around the state.
