Following the signing into law by Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano
State a bill to carve out four Emirates out of Kano Emirate, one of the
prominent members of PDP has said “God is at work”.
Former Aviation Minister Mr Femi Fani-Kayode said on Twitter that
those who pulled down the government of his former boss Dr Goodluck
Jonathan is paying a heavy price for their role.
“It appears that every single person that played a major role against @GEJonathan
in 2015 is paying a heavy price for it today. I sit back and I marvel
at the faithfulness and power of God. The fear of God is indeed the
beginning of wisdom,” he tweeted.
Though he didn’t specifically mention Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II, in
his earlier tweet he stated that he had never agreed with the Emir on
many national issues.
Fani-Kayode, one of the critics of the ruling All Progressive Congress tweeted,
“I have always had strong differences with Emir Sanusi of Kano, from
the days we were together in the Progressive Action Movement (PAM) in
2000 up until the time he was Gov. of Central Bank but I have always
respected him. I deplore the attempt to destroy him by the powers that
be.”
The incumbent Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II was the former CBN governor
who for the first time as an incumbent boss of Nigeria’s apex bank
exposed the same government.
He alleged that $50 billion had not been remitted to the Federation
Account. He indicated Mrs Diezani Alison-Madueke, Minister of Petroleum
Resources at the time.
After a series of meetings with the presidency and the affected
ministries, Sanusi later said $20 billion (N7,229,200,000,000) was
missing.
The revelation put the PDP government led by Jonathan under the
spotlight while the APC banked heavily on the revelation, saying PDP was
the most corrupt party ever.
Jonathan’s government fired Sanusi while he was outside the country,
there were plans to arrest, prosecute and possibly jail him before he
became the Emir of Kano and crowned on June 8, 2014.
The brilliant banker later played host to Jonathan and his entourage
during presidential campaigns ahead of the 2015 elections, to seek his
royal blessing.
Jonathan lost the election and accepted defeat by congratulating the incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari.
Barely five years, Emir Sanusi’s problem started as a result of his political interference into the administration of Ganduje.
A better way to deal with and reduce his influence in Kano was to break the Kano Emirate into pieces.
It started as a bill which has been described as one of the fastest
ever in the state passed and signed into law less than a month.

The law will give room for the creation of four more first class emirs in the state, which include:
- Rano,
- Karaye,
- Bichi and
- Gaya
The powers that be made him. The powers that be will destroy him. In the run up of 2015 elections, what were his roles and compensations. What do I know sef? It appears that all that conspired against @GEJonathan are reaping their rewards one by one. Watch for more. I tell y'all.
