Former Arsenal and Man Utd striker Danny Welbeck completes Watford transfer

Danny Welbeck has signed for Watford following his departure from Arsenal at the end of last season.

The former Gunners striker, 28, who has 42 caps for England, has moved to Vicarage Road on a three-year deal after a long road back to full fitness.

Welbeck has been out since last November after a sickening ankle injury and his biggest worry was his contract running out at Arsenal and then having to get back to full fitness whilst being without a club.

Arsenal also made it clear he could train with them and included him in their build-up to the Europa League final before his departure.

It is a big coup for Watford as Everton and Newcastle were also interested but the Hornets have also fended off interest from abroad, including Roma.
