Double stabbing at tube station leaves one dead and one injured

A man, 24, has been stabbed to death and another, 25, suffered an injury after a double stabbing at Elephant and Castle Tube station overnight.

Both men ran onto the street after being attacked at the South London station just before midnight.
The stabbing has sparked an urgent police investigation. British Transport Police confirmed they were called to the station just before 11.30pm after two men were found seriously injured in the street nearby

Unfortunately, the 24-year-old man died from his injuries this morning

A spokesperson said: "Despite the best efforts of medical staff, a 24-year-old man very sadly died in hospital this morning as a result of his injuries.

"A 25-year-old man remains in hospital in a serious condition.

"Their families have been informed and are currently being supported by specially trained family liaison officers."

Two men were arrested on suspicion of violent disorder in relation and remain in police custody.
